Green Bonds Trading Platform – A new BSE launch
India launches its first green bonds trading platform in Mumbai. The International arm of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), called India International Exchange (India INX) is to credit for this. They have launched the Global Securities Market (GSM), their new and exclusive green trading platform. Moreover, this platform will serve as a spearhead for trading sustainable bonds and exclusive fundraising.
How to invest in green bonds then?
The green bond taxonomy followed by India INX provides the platform to global investors to invest. These principles (called Green Bond principles) were finalized in 2014, by a consortium of investment banks like Bank of America, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and many more.
BSE has long been part of Sustainable Stock Exchange initiative, so it is only apt that India INX also encourages more green funding. This happens to be in line with the Government of India’s initiative of sustainable development. As a result, India INX continues to commit to fundraising for green projects like solar rooftop plants, solar power plants, hydro power plants, biogas plants and more. This comes coupled with their promotion of ESG standards through their GSM Green Platform.
