Gurugrammers Take Up Solar To Fight Against Air Pollution
This story is being narrated by Aditya Arora, resident of Gurugram, who went rooftop solar, as a step towards solar reliance. Aditya’s family resides in Sector 10 and they decided to switch to solar earlier this month.

WHY OPT FOR SOLAR- WHAT WAS ADITYA ARORA’S STORY?
The area where Aditya’s home was located had sufficient power supply. However, the per unit rate of electricity was very high. He lives with his family in a 2 storied home and owns his own roof. And of course, like any regular house, he owns fridges, TV’s, geysers and other electrical loads.
Aditya and his family struggled with increasing air pollution in the city. The fog around Delhi NCR made of toxic gases with a high concentration of nanoparticles responsible for respiratory health problems. Obviously, the human body can no longer filter out these toxins.
It is thus the need of the hour to make some serious lifestyle changes.
Mr. Arora was one such citizen who abided by the quote once said by Mahatma Gandhi ‘Be The Change You Wish To See In The World’
He then decided to go online and started doing some preliminary research, as we all instinctively do when in doubt, since Google seems to have the answer to everything!
However, Aditya stumbled upon the ZunRoof website as he scurried through the internet and was impressed to see ZunRoof’s work as a rooftop solar solutions provider. He then decided to call us and thus began the wonderful journey of Aditya Arora as a happy ZunRoof Client.
As a part of ZunRoof’s regular procedure, we first went to his home and carried out a detailed site assessment and suggested him to install a 3KW Grid Tied-solar system in his home.
WHY GRID TIED INVERTER?
A Grid tied inverter would reduce his monthly electricity bill by running the home load on solar. It would also help him earn money by selling the excess solar power produced by solar panels back to the grid.
On-Grid solar inverter, also known as the Grid-Tied solar inverter, works in connection with the main grid. It offers the advantage of running load directly through solar and selling excess solar power back by feeding the grid. An On-grid inverter can be installed in areas where mains supply is plenty available, which was perfect for Aditya’s home.
Gurugram receives approximately 11 hours of daylight every day in this month of March. And investing in solar power in this area would bring perfect results and reduce electricity bills to a maximum.

- Solar Panels – 16 panels, 325W each.

The system is expected to generate approximately 9 units of electricity daily depending on weather conditions and the region where is it installed. The installation at Aditya’s home was a great success too. In fact, the system is now running on solar and it has helped to resolve his problem of high electricity bill!
The net metering and subsidy given by the government make solar power a very cost effective and affordable solution for one and all.
Mr. Aditya says ‘I really wanted to contribute my bit to improve the environment around the city. I can now proudly say that I am a responsible and informed citizen.
