India’s Top 10 : Know Your State’s Ranking By Installed Solar Capacity

The government of India has set an ambitious target of 100 GW by 2022. Keeping this in mind Indian states are running the race to achieve this target. Here are the top 10 Indian states that are wining the race of installed solar capacity so far:

1. Karnataka

Karnataka is the clear winner as the highest installed solar power generation capacity in India.

• Solar capacity: 5,328 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 27,199 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 19.58 per cent.

2. Telangana

Telangana bags the second-highest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 3,501 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 15,944 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 22 per cent.

3. Rajasthan

Rajasthan was leading at the third-highest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 3,081 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 21,833 MW
• Solar sector share: 14.11 per cent.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh stands at the fourth-highest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 2,829 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 23,726 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 12 per cent.

5. Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu houses the fifth-highest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 2,055 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 30,447 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 6.74 per cent.

6. Gujarat

Gujarat houses the sixth position as the largest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 1,607 MW.
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 31,382 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 5.12 per cent.

7. Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh houses the seventh-largest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 1,526 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 21,873 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 7 per cent.

8. Maharashtra

Maharashtra houses the eighth-largest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 1,311 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 43,779 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 3 per cent.

9. Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh houses the ninth-largest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 875 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 25,061 MW
• Solar sector’s share: 3.49 per cent.

10. Punjab

Punjab houses the 10th-largest installed solar power generation capacity in the country.

• Solar capacity: 845 MW
• Installed electricity generation capacity: 13,432 MW
• Solar sector’s share at 6.29 per cent.
